Real orbit mode and the Newtonian sandbox answer different questions.
Real orbit mode
Catalog elements feed SGP4. Users change observation time and camera, rather than editing the source orbit.
Experiment mode
Cloning takes one predicted TEME position and velocity, converts kilometres to metres and maps axes consistently into the existing simulator. Subsequent motion uses the N-body engine and is labelled experimental.
Unknown spacecraft mass
A catalog record without a verified mass is cloned as a massless test particle. A one-metre experimental collision radius is a sandbox parameter, not a claimed physical measurement. Users can set their own physical properties.
